Mowgli (Bruce Reitherman) is a boy raised by wolves in the jungle, unaware he is human until Bagheera the panther (Sebastian Cabot) insists he must leave before the tiger Shere Khan (George Sanders) arrives. Baloo the bear (Phil Harris) takes him in instead, teaching him to live by the bare necessities and forget his worry. By the time Mowgli understands what he is, he has already chosen who he wants to stay.
