“One more lesson to share. The price of honor. The power of friendship. And the way you must fight when only the winner survives.”

In 1986, Miyagi (Pat Morita) returns to his village in Okinawa after forty years away, called home by his dying father. Daniel (Ralph Macchio) comes along, and John G. Avildsen sends them into a place where Miyagi must face Yukie (Nobu McCarthy), the woman he left behind, and Sato (Danny Kamekona), a former best friend who still wants a fight to the death. Far from the tournaments, Daniel finds a girl he likes and an enemy in Sato's nephew Chozen (Yuji Okumoto).
