The Keeper

“He won her love and our hearts and minds”

Bert Trautmann (David Kross), a German paratrooper, is taken prisoner and sent to a camp in Lancashire. There he starts keeping goal for the guards and prisoners, and Jack Friar (John Henshaw) offers him a place on his local amateur side. Marcus H. Rosenmüller follows Bert's push into English football and his bond with Margaret (Freya Mavor), while a town that has only ever known him as the enemy watches him play.
