“William Powell returns as Philo Vance”

A man is found dead in a room locked from the inside, and the only clue is a broken Chinese vase. He was a prominent collector, and plenty of people had reason to hate him. Philo Vance (William Powell) takes the case with his Scottish terrier at his side, and Detective Heath (Eugene Pallette) can only trail along as Vance sorts through suspects like Hilda Lake (Mary Astor).
