The Killing of a Sacred Deer
“A brilliant surgeon is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart.”
Steven Murphy (Colin Farrell), a cardiac surgeon, keeps a spotless house and a calm routine with his wife and two children, until a fatherless teenager named Martin (Barry Keoghan) starts turning up in his life. The boy's visits grow more insistent, and the family begins to fall ill. Yorgos Lanthimos has his actors speak in flat, careful sentences, so every line in the Murphy house sounds rehearsed.
