The Knack... and How to Get It

“Some have it, some don't.”

Colin (Michael Crawford), a nervous schoolteacher, asks his smooth housemate Tolen (Ray Brooks) to teach him the knack of getting women. Then Nancy Jones (Rita Tushingham) turns up in London, new to town and looking for a room, and Tom (Donal Donnelly), who paints everything white, wanders in alongside her. Richard Lester sets all of it moving at once, but the film keeps coming back to Colin and Nancy, two shy people sizing each other up.
