The Lair of the White Worm

(1988)Directed by Ken Russell93 min · RHorror, Comedy
“Some legends really bite.”

Lady Sylvia Marsh (Amanda Donohoe) is the wealthy mistress of a rural English manor, and she is the first to take an interest when Angus Flint (Peter Capaldi), an archaeologist, digs up a strange skull. Then the people of the nearby town start to vanish, and Lord James D'Ampton (Hugh Grant) goes looking for them. Ken Russell loosely adapts Bram Stoker's 1911 novel, and Donohoe stands among the old stones with the skull in front of her.
