The Land of Hope

“What's life after a disaster?”

An earthquake hits a farming village, and the nuclear station nearby explodes. The authorities draw an evacuation line straight through the Ono property, so half the family is ordered out while the other half stays put. Sion Sono follows Yasuhiko (Isao Natsuyagi), who will not leave his land, and his daughter-in-law Izumi (Megumi Kagurazaka), pregnant and certain the air is killing her child.
