The Last Boy Scout

“Everyone had counted them out. But they're about to get back in the game.”

A stripper is murdered in Los Angeles, and the private detective she hired, Joe Hallenbeck (Bruce Willis), is pulled into finding out who did it. He ends up working with her boyfriend, Jimmy Dix (Damon Wayans), a disgraced ex-footballer, though the two barely tolerate each other. Tony Scott follows them into a tangle of extortion and corrupt politics under pro football, with Joe a washed-up man still showing up for the job.
