The Last Frontier

During the Civil War, an isolated army fort sits at the far edge of the frontier, where the Indians still far outnumber the whites. Jed Cooper (Victor Mature), one of three trappers who sign on as scouts, serves under Captain Glenn Riordan (Guy Madison), a cavalry officer who loses command to Colonel Frank Marston (Robert Preston). Anthony Mann sets the three men against each other at a post with no reinforcements and few friends.
