The Last Laugh

The Hotel Doorman (Emil Jannings) loves the long coat of his post, the gold buttons and the revolving door he guards at a luxurious hotel. His niece (Maly Delschaft) is getting married, and the whole neighborhood looks up to him. F. W. Murnau and writer Carl Mayer follow what happens when the hotel fires him, with his friends, his neighbors and his standing among them all at risk.
