The Last Mistress

Ryno de Marigny (Fu'ad Aït Aattou) is a young, dissolute man of the French aristocracy, about to marry the virtuous Hermangarde (Roxane Mesquida). Rumors and betrayals gather around the engagement, and the grandmother who arranged it wants to hear the truth about his past. Catherine Breillat adapts Barbey d'Aurevilly's novel, and the film shows how much a person's history can weigh on a marriage meant to be a clean start.
