The Last of the Mohicans

(1992)Directed by Michael Mann112 min · RHistory, War, Drama
“An epic adventure and passionate romance unfold against the panorama of a frontier wilderness ravaged by war.”

In 1757, with British, French and Native allies killing one another across the colonial frontier, a Huron war party seizes Cora (Madeleine Stowe), her sister Alice (Jodhi May) and their escort. Three Mohican trappers get to them first, among them Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his father Chingachgook (Russell Means). Michael Mann runs the pursuit through bright, open country, and between Hawkeye and Cora there grows an attachment neither of them planned.
