“Not in his town. Not on his watch.”

A drug baron has escaped FBI custody, and with his gang and a hostage he is racing for the Mexican border through Sommerton Junction. Sheriff Ray Owens (Arnold Schwarzenegger) left the LAPD after a bungled operation and wants only a quiet town, but he has little time to gather deputies, including Lewis Dinkum (Johnny Knoxville), before the convoy arrives. Kim Jee-woon plants the lawmen in the one stretch of road the baron has to cross.
