The Last Station
“Intoxicating. Infuriating. Impossible. Love.”
In Russia in 1910, Leo Tolstoy (Christopher Plummer) is the most famous writer alive, and he has begun to preach a life without property while still living on his estate. His wife Sofya (Helen Mirren) fights Vladimir Chertkov (Paul Giamatti), the disciple she blames for a new will leaving Tolstoy's work to the Russian people. Michael Hoffman keeps the camera close on a household where every argument is also about money.
