The Last Tree

Femi (Samuel Adewunmi) has spent his boyhood with a foster family in rural Lincolnshire when his birth mother comes for him and takes him to inner-city London. The new streets, the new rules and the unfamiliar way people talk to each other leave him unsure who he is meant to become. Shola Amoo, drawing on his own life, tells it in loosely connected chapters that follow Femi from boy to teenager.
