The Last Unicorn

(1982)Directed by Arthur Rankin Jr., Jules Bass93 min · GFantasy, Animation, Family, Adventure
“There's magic in believing!”

A butterfly speaks to a unicorn (Mia Farrow) in riddles and tells her she may be the last of her kind, the rest driven off by a monstrous Red Bull. She leaves her forest to find the truth, and picks up Schmendrick (Alan Arkin), a second-rate magician, and Molly Grue (Tammy Grimes), who has dreamed of a unicorn her whole life. Rankin and Bass send them toward King Haggard's castle, and the unicorn has never gone so far from home.
