“Nothing Could Stop the Last Wagon From Coming Through!”

Comanche Todd (Richard Widmark) is a white man raised among the Comanches, and he is wanted for the murder of three men. He is in custody when an Apache attack wipes out a wagon train, leaving a handful of settlers, among them Jenny (Felicia Farr) and young Billy (Tommy Rettig), with no one to lead them out but their prisoner. Delmer Daves films it in CinemaScope, the survivors small against the sun-bleached land and Todd riding ahead of them.
