The Lathe of Heaven

(1980)Directed by Fred Barzyk, David R. Loxton104 minScience Fiction, Fantasy, Drama, Thriller, TV Movie
“Ursula K. Le Guin's Science Fiction Masterpiece”

George Orr (Bruce Davison) wants only to stop dreaming, because what he dreams becomes true, and he has been swallowing drugs to keep his sleeping mind quiet. His court-ordered psychiatrist, Dr. William Haber (Kevin Conway), tests the claim, finds it real, and puts Orr under hypnosis to dream a better world. Barzyk and Loxton leave Orr and Haber with every sleep rewriting the world around them, and no one left who remembers the old one.
