The Law and Jake Wade

“The girl is a captive hostage at the mercy of the West's most notorious bandit-killer.”

Jake Wade (Robert Taylor) is the marshal of a small Western town, living quietly with his fiancée Peggy (Patricia Owens), until the day Clint Hollister (Richard Widmark) rides in. Hollister rode with Jake once, and Jake is the only man who knows where their bank-job money lies buried. Hollister takes Jake and Peggy into the High Sierra at gunpoint, and Jake has to choose between the loot and her life.
