The Lawnmower Man

“God made him simple. Science made him a god.”

Jobe Smith (Jeff Fahey) mows lawns for a living and has an intellectual disability, until a scientist offers him a place in an experiment. Dr. Lawrence Angelo (Pierce Brosnan) wants to raise Jobe's intelligence with nootropic drugs and virtual reality simulations, and the sessions begin to work faster than anyone expected. Brett Leonard stages the computer worlds as bright digital spaces that Jobe seems to enter, and soon he is not content to stay outside them.
