The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Allan Quatermain (Sean Connery) is a retired adventurer living out his days in Africa when the British government comes asking for him by name. In 1899, a masked villain is pushing Europe toward world war, and Quatermain is to lead a team of famous figures from Victorian fiction, among them Captain Nemo (Naseeruddin Shah). Stephen Norrington's film is built on the idea that people who could never stand each other are the only ones strong enough to stop it.
