The League of Gentlemen

“What is the league ... Who are the gentlemen ?”

Colonel Hyde (Jack Hawkins), forced into retirement and short of money, sets about recruiting seven other ex-servicemen for a job he will only call a special project. Each man has a debt or a secret he would rather keep buried, and each is trained in exactly the skill the plan requires. Basil Dearden follows them as Hyde and his second-in-command Race (Nigel Patrick) put a bank robbery on a military footing, drilling it like any other operation.
