“When you're seventeen, people think they can do anything to you. Billie Jean is about to prove them wrong.”

Billie Jean (Helen Slater) is an ordinary Texas teenager who gets followed and pushed around by the local boys, and she mostly puts up with it. Then they wreck her brother Binx's scooter (Christian Slater) for fun, and their father refuses to pay for the damage. Matthew Robbins sends her across the state with Binx and Lloyd (Keith Gordon) behind her, three kids who suddenly have only each other.
