“Who is teaching whom?”

Liam Sommers (Daryl McCormack), a young writer, takes a tutoring job at the country estate of his idol, the celebrated novelist J.M. Sinclair (Richard E. Grant). His pupil is Sinclair's son Bertie, and Hélène (Julie Delpy), the wife, watches from the edges of every room. Alice Troughton fills the house with old grievances, and the longer Liam stays, the more his own future is tied to what the family has buried.
