The Liberation of L.B. Jones

“Some of his best friends were black... some of her best friends were white.”

Lord Byron "L.B." Jones (Roscoe Lee Browne), a prosperous Black undertaker, comes to suspect that his wife Emma (Lola Falana) is sleeping with a white policeman, Steve Mundine (Lee Majors). When he confronts the man, his own lawyer, Oman Hedgepath (Lee J. Cobb), and the other officers move to keep the matter quiet. William Wyler, in his last film, treats the quarrel as a question of whose complaint the town will agree to hear.
