One man's campaigns covered twice the ground Alexander the Great conquered, and he began them as a wealthy young Venezuelan with no army. Alberto Arvelo follows Simón Bolívar (Édgar Ramírez) through his fight to free South America from the Spanish Empire, with Daniel O'Leary (Iwan Rheon) at his side. Beside the war runs the marriage to María Teresa (María Valverde), the person Bolívar answers to before any crowd.
