The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean

“If this story ain't true... it shoulda been!”

Out in a stretch of the West with nothing in it, Roy Bean (Paul Newman) pins on a badge he gave himself and starts holding court in a saloon. Strangers who ride through get his own brand of frontier justice, and the empty land slowly fills with a town. John Huston gives us Bean on his porch, hat low, Maria Elena (Victoria Principal) nearby, and the dust blowing across the street.
