Leigh (Kristen Bell) walks out on her reporter job in New York and drives back to her childhood home in Connecticut, the last place she remembers being happy. She takes a job as a lifeguard and starts falling into the habits of her teenage years, which brings her close to Matt (Alex Shaffer), a troubled boy half her age. Liz W. Garcia writes the two as people who each find, in the other, a way out of their own lives.
