The Lighthouse

“There is enchantment in the light.”

Thomas Howard (Robert Pattinson) signs on as a lighthouse keeper in the 1890s, wanting only to finish his four weeks of work on a remote New England island and collect his pay. His superior, Thomas Wake (Willem Dafoe), keeps the lamp room locked and hands him the heavy labor. Robert Eggers shoots in black and white, and the two men's faces are lit hard against the dark walls of their quarters.
