The Limits of Control

“For every way in, there is another way out.”

The Lone Man (Isaach de Bankolé) is a solitary assassin who trusts no one and tells no one what he is after. Jim Jarmusch sends him across Spain, through Madrid, Seville and Almería, to meet a string of contacts who each pass along a single instruction. The job is never explained to him or to us, and whatever waits at the end of this quiet trail, he is heading toward it alone.
