The Linnet

Strange things start to happen in a backwoods Polish village after two wanderers pass through, though nobody can say what they did. Kaziuk Bartoszewicz (Krzysztof Majchrzak), a stubborn peasant with a pregnant wife, Handzia (Anna Seniuk), grows restless once a new schoolteacher arrives and fills his head with fantasies. Witold Leszczyński follows him as he cuts down a family tree and takes a scythe to the rye, and the whole village turns against him.
