The List of Adrian Messenger

“The most bizarre murder mystery ever conceived!”

A famous writer hands his friend a list of names and asks him to find out where each person is now, without saying why. The friend is Anthony Gethryn (George C. Scott), a former British agent, and he takes the job on trust. John Huston sets the search among the country estates of the wealthy, where Kirk Douglas turns up under more than one face and Gladys Cooper sits in her fine house, Gethryn left holding a list that gets shorter.
