The Little World of Don Camillo

In a Po valley village where the earth is hard and life is miserly, the priest Don Camillo Tarocci (Fernandel) and the communist mayor Peppone (Gino Cervi) fight every day over who leads the community. Peppone wants a People's House, Don Camillo wants a garden city for the poor, and each privately admires the other. Julien Duvivier films their feud as a village comedy, kept warm by affection for the people in it.
