David (Colin Farrell) has just been dumped, and he checks into a seaside hotel where newly single adults have forty-five days to find a romantic partner. The Hotel Manager (Olivia Colman) oversees the premise with bureaucratic calm, and the other guests pair off or scheme with mounting desperation. David sits alone at dinner tables and begins to understand that his transformation may not be unwelcome.
