The Long Excuse

Sachio Kinugasa (Masahiro Motoki), a writer, is at home with his lover when the call comes that his wife has died in a bus crash. He barely cries. Miwa Nishikawa follows him as he starts looking after the two children of Yoichi (Pistol Takehara), a working man whose wife died in the same accident. Sachio has to decide whether he can stand in for a father without knowing how to grieve.
