The Long Good Friday

(1980)Directed by John Mackenzie114 min · RCrime, Thriller, Drama
“Who lit the fuse that tore Harold's world apart?”

Harold Shand (Bob Hoskins), a London crime boss, has the weekend lined up to sell American Mafia investors on his plan to turn a derelict stretch of the city into the site of a future Olympic Games. Then a series of bombings starts hitting his empire, and nobody will tell him who is behind them. Harold and Victoria (Helen Mirren) have to keep smiling at the visitors. John Mackenzie keeps the camera close and the mood jumpy.
