The Long Kiss Goodnight

“What's forgotten is not always gone.”

Eight years after washing up on a beach with no memory, Samantha Caine (Geena Davis) is a small-town schoolteacher and mother with a quiet life. A car accident and a violent break-in at her house bring back pieces of someone else, and she hires the wisecracking private investigator Mitch Henessey (Samuel L. Jackson) to find out who. Renny Harlin follows her as the person she was starts to push out the person she became.
