The Long Voyage Home

“The Love of Women in Their Eyes... The Salt of the Sea in Their Blood!”

Ole Olsen (John Wayne) is a young Swedish seaman aboard the merchant ship Glencairn, crossing the Atlantic in the early days of World War II. He shares the forecastle with the loud, heavy-drinking Driscoll (Thomas Mitchell) and the sharp-tongued Cocky (Barry Fitzgerald). John Ford adapts four Eugene O'Neill one-act plays, and the bond between Ole and Driscoll, two men with little to say to each other, is what the crew leans on.
