The Lost Patrol

(1934)Directed by John Ford73 minAction, War
“Blistering sun... blazing bullets!”

The Sergeant (Victor McLaglen) only wants to bring his men north to their brigade, though the officer who knew the way is dead from an unseen sniper's bullet. John Ford leaves the patrol at an oasis in the Mesopotamian desert, where Sanders (Boris Karloff) and Morelli (Wallace Ford) wake to stolen horses and a dead sentry. They have no map, no mounts and no sign of whoever is shooting, and the water is the only thing keeping them alive.
