The Lovers

(1958)Directed by Louis Malle91 minRomance, Drama
“THIS WAS HER MOMENT! ...and nothing else mattered!”

Jeanne Tournier (Jeanne Moreau) is a provincial wife who has grown restless beside her husband Henri (Alain Cuny), a man too busy to notice her. Louis Malle, only twenty-five when he made his second feature, follows her as her romantic notions pull her toward Paris and the wilderness of the countryside. The film leaves her with her longing, drawn further from home.
