The Lunchbox

“Can you fall in love with someone you have never met?”

Ila (Nimrat Kaur) is a young Mumbai housewife who cooks her husband's lunch with care, hoping to win back his attention. The tiffin goes astray in the city's famously exact delivery system and lands on the desk of Saajan Fernandes (Irrfan Khan), a man near the end of his working life. Ritesh Batra follows the notes they begin to send, the empty tin coming back clean each afternoon.
