The 'Maggie'

Captain McTaggart (Alex Mackenzie), the elderly skipper of a broken-down puffer, tricks the American businessman Calvin B. Marshall (Paul Douglas) into paying him to carry a cargo that belongs to Marshall. Alexander Mackendrick sends the tycoon after the boat when he learns of it, with a crew of Scots in no hurry to be found. It is a plain contest between a man who counts everything in dollars and a few men who have never had any to count.
