Margaret Dauncey (Alice Terry) was once a helpless cripple, until the surgeon Arthur Burdon (Iván Petrovich) operated on her spine and gave her back her body. Then she meets Oliver Haddo (Paul Wegener), a charlatan magician she cannot resist, and Rex Ingram sets her between the two men. Haddo works at his experiments, which require the blood of a maiden, and Margaret stands in front of him.
