The Magus

Nicholas Urfe (Michael Caine), a young English teacher on a Greek island, is drawn into a series of games run by Maurice Conchis (Anthony Quinn), the island's magus. A beautiful young woman, Lily (Candice Bergen), turns up in the middle of them. Guy Green directs from John Fowles's own screenplay, and Nicholas keeps stepping further in, sure he can still work out what is real.
