The Man from London
From his glass booth above a seaside railway, Maloin (Miroslav Krobot), a switchman, watches a murder on the quay and then climbs down to take the suitcase of money left behind. He tells no one, and the guilt follows him home to his wife and daughter, where the quiet starts to curdle. Béla Tarr adapts Simenon, and Maloin sits at the kitchen table, the case hidden somewhere in the house, saying nothing.
