The Man in Grey

“The most daring novel of the century lives on the screen”

Clarissa Richmond (Phyllis Calvert) is a quiet girl who marries Lord Rohan (James Mason) for the standing it brings, and finds a husband who is dour and has little interest in her. Leslie Arliss, directing for Gainsborough Pictures, sets her new household beside the life of her old boarding school friend Hesther Shaw (Margaret Lockwood), who is drawn toward Rohan. Clarissa meanwhile falls for a stage actor, and she wants more from her life than the one she chose.
