The Man of the Year

“Even losers get to win sometimes.”

Máiquel (Murilo Benício) is an ordinary man in Rio who loses a bet and dyes his hair blond, a small humiliation that sets everything after it moving. Within twenty-four hours he goes from nobody to hero to outlaw, with Cledir (Cláudia Abreu) and Érica (Natália Lage) pulled into his orbit along the way. José Henrique Fonseca keeps the camera restless and close, so the night never gives Máiquel a moment to stand still.
