The Man They Could Not Hang

“TRANSFORMED BY THE HANGMAN'S NOOSE... from a doctor serving humanity, into a demon filled with hate and terrorizing blood-lust!”

Dr. Henryk Savaard (Boris Karloff) is a scientist who has built a machine to bring the dead back to life, and he tests it on a young medical student who volunteers to die for the experiment. Nick Grindé follows him from the laboratory to the courtroom, where the verdict puts him on the gallows and the jury in his debt. Savaard's daughter Janet (Lorna Gray) watches the proceedings from the gallery, her father's calm face fixed on the twelve jurors.
