The Man Who Came to Dinner

(1941)Directed by William Keighley112 minComedy
“NOTHING COULD BE FUNNIER!”

Sheridan Whiteside (Monty Woolley), a famously sharp-tongued critic, slips on the ice outside a Midwestern family's home and is ordered to stay put with a bad hip. He takes over the house at once, with his secretary Maggie Cutler (Bette Davis) fielding his demands. William Keighley keeps the hosts hovering in their own front hall, while Whiteside barks orders from a wheelchair in the middle of the parlor.
